Justino’s produce one of my favourite Sercial wines, Indeed Sercial is my favourite of all Madeira wines, though Terrantez is high in my thoughts, but much less available.

Justino’s Sercial is quite excellent and at 10 years old is a must try and must buy if visiting Madeira. It is dry by Madeira wine standards, fresh and invigorating with good notes of fruit and freshness.

Sercial makes an excellent aperitif, but also works well with fish as it does not overpower, rather it enhances the freshness of well cooked fish and in particular Madeira’s wonderful espada fish, served fresh and lightly fried in batter and accompanied by banana and a salad.
